Hope Hotel Taipei

April 29th, 2009

Located across an airport bus terminal and just a few meters from the Taipei Railway Station, the Hope Hotel is perfect for travelers who had missed their flights or are on a routine stopover in Taipei. At roughly $35 per night for a double room and $65 for a double twin room, the rates are ideal for those planning on a short stay, without the filth and stench you would expect from a backpacker’s inn.

In fact, the Hope Hotel looks more like a 4-star accommodation rather than a discount inn. Although bizarrely situated inside an office building, the rooms are spacious, carpeted, well-lit, fragrant and spotless. Queen-size beds, bathrooms with tub, fresh towels and toiletries, and 40-inch plasma TVs with more than 50 channels including HBO, ESPN, BBC and Discovery are just a few of the surprising amenities Hope Hotel offers.

From the hotel doorstep, walk around 10 to 15minutes to reach Ximending – the best place to shop in Taipei. Restaurants, coffee shops, food stalls, and karaoke bars are all accessible from the hotel by foot. The nearby train station takes you to downtown where you can visit major attractions such as the Taipei World Trade Center and the world’s tallest building, the Taipei 101.
